It was an honor and a privilege to teach a dining skills course for Tulane University’s Athletic Department, serving first-year and transfer student-athletes.
During this engaging session, the student-athletes learned essential dining etiquette skills designed to prepare them for success beyond the classroom and the field of competition. We explored proper table settings, utensil placement and usage, dining posture, napkin etiquette, professional conversation, and how to confidently navigate formal and business dining experiences.
Dining etiquette is about much more than knowing which fork to use. It is about demonstrating confidence, respect, professionalism, and consideration for others. These valuable skills will benefit the student-athletes as they attend team functions, university events, interviews, networking opportunities, professional dinners, and future career engagements.
The participants were attentive, enthusiastic, and eager to strengthen their social and professional presence. I thoroughly enjoyed sharing practical guidance that will help them feel prepared and polished in any dining environment.
Thank you to the Tulane University Athletic Department for the opportunity to support the personal and professional development of these outstanding first-year and transfer student-athletes. I am proud to have played a role in equipping them with dining skills that will serve them throughout college and well into their professional lives.
At Elite Etiquette School of Protocol, Inc., we believe that proper etiquette builds confidence, creates opportunities, and leaves a lasting impression.
